Beware of Faulty Work

Deck failures cause more injuries and death than any other residential structure. These deck failures happen because the deck wasnt built properly.  There are now certain code requirements and load requirements that need to be met to ensure that the structure will be safe. Many builders and contractors ignore these codes: first of all the home owner wont ever know the difference, second following these codes is more of a hassle for them and not as profitable. As a result about half of the decks in our country are not built to code and are dangerous. If your not familiar with these codes make sure you hire someone who is. Also if you hire a contractor make sure he isnt going to over look these saftey codes.
